Important July Update from Nature’s Select Chief Brand Officer, Megan Sanchez

All of us here at Nature's Select remain committed to providing you the highest quality pet food product without sacrificing the integrity of our ingredients and the safety of our food production. Our team wants to thank you all for continuing to stand by our side and choose to support our family's pet food business.

With the recent Nature's Select shortages and production delays we had earlier this month, please know we are doing all that we can to ensure we bounce back as quickly as possible. Our team has been proactive in openly communicating with our Nature's Select loyal customers regarding any delays or shortages on some of our recipes that may have affected your recent scheduled reorder with us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and your pets - never in our nearly 30 years in business have we ever experienced a manufacturer shut down affecting our ability to produce more pet food to meet demand.

Nonetheless, we're happy to report we're back in action and freshly made pet food products are in production or already on the way to our distributors nationwide! Our Select Classic, Select Cold Water, and Nature's Select Canned Chicken Pate products are finally back in stock and ready to ship after a nearly 2-week hiatus due to production delays. August we expect to have ALL other recipes back to regular consistent supply as well. As a friendly reminder due to everything we've been facing in these unpredictable times we’re living in, we want to remind our customers to please check your current pet food supply and try to order 1-2 weeks ahead of time to ensure you don't run out altogether! Having a back up 5 lb small bag as your emergency supply can't hurt, either.

Now to address what's on all of our minds presently: inflation. I know it's not a fun topic to discuss, but it's an important one to understand as consumers. As of July 13th, the annual inflation rate for the United States was 9.1% for the 12 months ending June 2022. This is the largest annual increase since November 1981. Inflation is hitting all products and resources across the board. Meat sources are expensive (chicken up 17.4% year over year, the largest chicken increase ever) at-home food costs are up significantly (11.9% year over year, highest increase since April 1979) and of course fuel & oil are absolutely ridiculous (up 107% - the highest ever recorded in US history) as of June 2022. The average American family is struggling to get by month to month, paycheck to paycheck. We're only halfway through the 2022 calendar year but things aren't getting any easier - it's tough out there for us all.

We are painfully aware of the strife your wallet is feeling every time you shop for anything these days, but we want to ensure that our customers continue to feel confident when shopping with Nature's Select Pet Food. We remain a family owned & operated pet food business, privately owned since 1994. We choose not to sell out to larger corporations (we get offers all the time that we turn down) because we do not want to risk losing quality nor do we want to sacrifice our personalized friendly service. Many large companies are participating in "Shrinkflation" which basically means they're rising the cost of your favorite products but cutting back how much of that product you are actually receiving. An example of this is a pet food brand who will raise the cost of your pet food bag at the grocery store, but will reduce the weight of the kibble inside so you're not only paying more but you're getting less. This is a practice that we will never partake in for as long as we own our family business as we choose to do business ethically and truthfully.

We only sell our Nature's Select dry dog food in two sizes: a 5 lb bag (about 20 cups total) or our signature 30 lb bag (about 120 cups total). No matter how you choose to calculate your monthly pet food budget, you will find that Nature's Select kibble is still a cost-effective option for dog owners when you look at the price per scoop, price per meal, or price per day.
